Third Class have really enjoyed taking part in the TAP Residency programme this month, where trained creative practitioners and primary school teachers collaborate to deliver creative projects with students. We were paired with local artist Kate Kelly from Art Room 109 (www.artroom109.com), who brought her mobile art studio to Ballinderreen NS for four Mondays in March. We loved trying out lots of different activities such as painting, drawing, printing, clay, weaving, collage and collaborative art. We enjoyed a number of construction projects including making robots out of cardboard. We loved Kate’s STEM challenges and the rice, playdoh and shaving foam stations were huge hits with everyone. We learned so much about creativity in the classroom from Kate and loved every minute of our lessons with her.
